UNIC: Polish conference on thematic lines

In the first week of December, the UNIC 2.0 kick-off conference was held in Lodz (Poland). The time has come to get to the heart of the themes that will occupy the members of the alliance for the next four years.

The partners from UNIC's 10 universities met for two days to lay the foundations for their work and make concrete the projections contained in the application submitted to the European Union. The first day was devoted to the 'thematic lines', the themes considered from the perspective of post-industrial cities: health and well-being, entrepreneurship for innovation, arts and culture, justice and security, superdiversity, urban resilience and sustainability. The experts in these different fields have had the opportunity to exchange ideas, both face-to-face and online, in order to work together on actions to be taken: research projects, summer or winter schools, joint courses, etc. The possibilities are numerous within the European network!

Students and the city involved

In addition to the many experts in the above-mentioned fields, the event brought together student representatives from the 10 universities in the consortium, who are now thinking more than ever about the best ways to promote UNIC in their universities! At ULiège, Karelle Marneffe and Justin Jamar took part in the discussions on UNIC's "student ambassadors".

Always in touch with its local area, UNIC is also a meeting place for the academic world and the representatives of the cities in which the universities are located: Gregor Stangherlin and Pierre Fontaine, from the City of Liège, were also on the trip and were able to meet their counterparts from the four corners of Europe.
